MIRROR

Violet was inspired by a simple fact: the rift between the virtual world - everything happening on the other side of your computer screen - and the physical world we live in is growing, and growing fast.

On the other side of the screen, in the digital world we explore with the click of a mouse, everything is possible and accessible. On the Web, information can be customized for each user's needs: you can set preferences on any given page, information can be targeted and updated in real time. You can gather news from different sources, mix personal and professional, fun and utilitarian aspects in a single place. In virtual worlds such as Second Life, in computer games, in instant messaging and chat-rooms, you can become whoever you want, take on any guise you like, meet strange and nonsensical creatures. In a world of bytes, everything can be recombined, everything is flexible. Everything can be wondrous and magical.

SNIFF

Sniff is first and foremost a high-quality physical toy dog, that can withstand the rough and tumble of everyday play and activities. But Sniff’s interactive elements add an extra dimension of experience and engagement. Through the use of Radio Frequency IDentification technology Sniff can identify objects that he comes close to, which trigger behaviours that are expressed through sound and vibration. In the Sniff video above you can see three of Sniff’s ‘activities’ in action, in real settings.

SKAL

Skål is a media player designed for the home that lets you interact with digital media using physical objects. You place objects in a wooden bowl to play back related media on the TV. Skål makes media playful.

A bowl sits on the living room table and a range of physical objects can be placed within it. When an object is placed in the bowl related media is played back on the TV. For example a physical Moomin character like Little My will play a sequence from the Moomin cartoon where she is featured. Skål lets you control all kinds of digital media; movie-clips, Youtube channels, Flickr photo streams, home videos, online radio etc.
